The stir sticks they use for their coffee just about sums up the philosophy at Roses Bistro and Flowers. It’s not the usual plastic or wooden stick but a fettuccine noodle. “I have two children and as I get older I’m more concerned about reducing the global footprint,” says owner Rose Turner. “It’s more important in society and is what our customers are looking for.” In keeping with environmental protection, Rose buys local produce, especially in the summer when she sources ingredients from Price’s Market and Links hothouse.
The fare at Roses includes a range of tasty dishes that refuse to be pigeonholed. The bistro is well known for its lunchtime soups, which are the result of an imaginative team effort. “It’s important that all of my staff are well versed in the kitchen," explains Rose. "It gives them the chance to learn from the chef and to introduce their own character to the menu. I feel we all do a really great job on our soup of the day.”
Coffees, teas and home baked goods are well received in the morning while Thursday nights are reserved for live entertainment and a customised dinner menu. “On Thursday nights we don’t have a dinner menu set in stone. We take reservations and personalise the menu so long as we have details in advance,” says Rose. “It’s sort of like what you would do at home if you were hosting a dinner party.”
Rose went over and above my expectations to deliver a floral display to my sister in Scotland. The flowers were absolutely amazing and delivered within a very short period of time, I was very pleased because my sister was sick at the time.
Thank you Rose, you will always be assured of my loyalty to your business.
The owner is very cheerful and pleasant person who bends over backwards to help with any flower order or gift basket wish. Nothing but great experiences
I have ordered flowers delivered and have received flowers as a gift many times from Roses, they have always been beautiful, affordable, fresh and unique. I would highly recommend Roses to anyone!
