I had passed this place a few times and finally...

I had passed this place a few times and finally decided to try it. Our dining experience was great. We love Sushi and Sashimi. The food was very fresh and the servers were great. I am very picky about seafood, and I wasn't disappointed, it was excellent. We were given some suggestions and were exremely pleased with the whole experience...I especially loved sitting in the little private booth. We actually have planned to go back for Mothers Day dinner. I can't wait! This is our new favorite restaurant.

I'm a lover of Japanese food and have traveled...

I'm a lover of Japanese food and have traveled many times to Japan on business trips. The first time my wife and I visited Yo Yo, we were attracted by the warm, yet relaxing atmosphere. The service was excellent; the waitress whom was serving us was friendly and always had a smile on her face. However, the food was not up to standard as we were expected. The general presentation was good; however, the sushi and the sashimi were served too thick, unlike other authentic Japanese restaurants. The sushis at Yo Yo were chewy because of their thickness and also because the salmon were filleted unprofessionally (An experienced Japanese chef has told me that the salmon should be prepared so that the white lines, which are the fats of the salmon have to be horizontal, not vertical, and that is a rule of thumb when filleting salmon). The taste of the sushi rice was a little too strong as well compared to other restaurants. The tempura in the bento box, although somewhat unoriginal (in Japan, the tempura are served lightly fried and battered with a soft but crunchy texture) but was satisfactory. The teriyaki sauce, however, was too thick and a little too sweet. The salad dressing was fantastic, lightly vinegar and well balanced. The price range of their food is reasonable. Yo Yo is not the best choice if you want authentic Japanese food; there are many excellent Japanese restaurants in Mississauga and Toronto with similar price but offering higher quality authentic Japanese food. I would however, still recommend Yo Yo if convenience is your priority.
