First time ordering from here since we moved to Owen Sound. Over the years have heard great praise but was a little disappointed with the flavour of our meal. The rice was bland as was the chow mein. The red sauce for the chicken balls was runnier than most chinese restaurants. The dry noodles were the same as you an buy at the local grocery store rather than the home made deepfried kind. I feel that the main three items should be three that are mastered, as that is what the majority of people order. On a positive note, it was hot and fast. Run of the mill chinese food. Decent price. I ate it all... but was not left impressed. I will be looking for another place to call my favourite.

Chinese food to please white bread Canadians

I can't believe the previous praise for the won ton soup in this place. It's bland, nothing special, a small serving. If you think it's great, you should get out and eat at a real Chinese restaurant in the big city. (And by that I don't mean Barrie!) Channing is a typical small town Ontario Chinese/Canadian restaurant. If you don''t get your expectations up, the food is alright. Decor is OK. Service is slow, since the place is oriented to servicing take-out orders before the eat-in diners.
